Paper Bag That

Usually when summer rolls around the activity on the blog winds down to a slow trickle because it's freaking summer and I've been very vocal about how much I loathe it. In fact I think it's all I talk about. Wah summer I wish there was fall in Manila why is it so hot here in this place wah I'm melting. That's the blog summarized in one sentence.

Most days I cant be bothered to put on clothes, much less a decent outfit, so I consider this one a mild success even if going by my personal standards it's really not that great of a look. Wrap around skirts are genius though. So much fun to experiment with. The one I'm wearing here is b+ab from a thrift store and it's actually too long but because it's a wrap around skirt I was able to shorten it to a suitable length by folding the top down, paper bag waist style. No sew alterations are the best kind of clothing modifications. I have a habit of buying skirts that are far too long for me (obviously the fault of the skirt) and coupled with my laziness I resort to quick fixes that require the least effort possible. This is why I have many skirts that are pinned in weird places—pinning them upwards solves the length problem while still allowing me to pass it off as intentional. Why yes, this is the new asymmetrical, avant garde trend, didn't you know?

  1. How hot does it actually get there, typically? Well hey, if you can make it work, and fashion something into something better, then good on you.

    1. It's usually 35C in the summer but are days when it reaches 39C, in which case the only thing I can do is lie in bed with at least two fans directed at me.

  2. Love wrapping a skirt up to different lengths/waist positions.

All the best for the hot weather.

I value freedom of speech but there's also a thing called respect.

Play nice.
